Why the coatí doesn't ask permission to explore
The coatí is the spirit of Chi'ik Adventures. Not as a mascot — as a way of moving through the world.

The coatí moves through the jungle with its nose to the ground and its tail straight up. It does not wait to be invited. It does not ask whether the territory belongs to it. It explores — following its instincts, taking detours, finding things that other animals walk past without noticing.
Where the name comes from
Chi'ik is the Maya word for coatí. We chose it not as a mascot but as a philosophy. The animal embodies everything we believe travel should feel like: curious, unhurried, alive to its surroundings.
Explora
The coatí does not rush. It follows its nose. It takes detours. The best trips work exactly the same way — not a checklist to complete, but a series of genuine discoveries that happen when you slow down enough to pay attention.
Conoce
The coatí knows every tree in its territory — not because it studied it, but because it paid attention. A great trip works the same way. The difference between a tourist and a traveler is the quality of attention brought to the same place.
Respeta
The coatí takes what it needs and moves on. It eats fruit, keeps moving, leaves seeds behind without planning to. It does not destroy the forest that feeds it. That is what we call respeto — not a rule imposed from outside, but a natural consequence of really knowing a place.
When you really know a place, you protect it without being asked.
This is the spirit behind every experience in our catalog. Not a list of things to do — a way of moving through the world.
